The Table

Two years ago I got a catalog in the mail from this place that I LOVE.

On the centerfold I fell in love with a table.

A table that cost $2,900!!!

It would be an understatement to say that the table was out of my price range...

But I loved it all the same.

Family meals here on the Farm are so much more than simply feeding the masses.

They're the one time a day that the Cowboy actually puts his iphone away.
They're a time for the six of us to come together, to catch up on each others hearts, to discover His Word together.

The kitchen table is also a place where we get into invite others into the real us.
The table is the place where the farmhouse gets loud, and treasures laugh and cry, and spill their drinks and ask peculiar questions like, "Do pirates know that Jesus died on the cross for them?" asked by the soon to be toothless six-year-old dressed up in a pirate hat and Indian suit, sitting across from me at the table.

When we moved onto the farm, we found this treasure chest of old barn wood on the back side of a shed in the middle of the east field and I knew from day one that it would be perfect for my table.

And the Cowboy, He knows that once I get something in my head, I have a VERY hard time letting it go...

Possibly on the verge of nagging, I just might have brought up that table that I saw in the magazine two years ago, maybe upwards of a couple hundred times.

And the Cowboy, he would always smile quietly straight into me, rarely ever saying a word.

But the day has finally come.

And the gift is more than I could ever have imagined.

Before Christmas, the Cowboy and his Dad picked the perfect wood, figured out the details, and began to mold my dream table into reality.

Then last night,

He brought it in the house.

Truly a gift from the Cowboy's heart to mine.

Truly, truly, I think I'm glowing from ear to ear.

Truly, I am so in  thankful love for the Cowboy that I hardly know what to do with myself.

My Joey,

THANK YOU!
