Halloween In The Barn

Pictures can sometimes tell the best stories...
But there were families, and a barn, and chile spread across two old tables in the barn. Treats in the backs of cars out in the field. Costumes, and laughter, and Mama's and Papa's having as much joy as their treasures...

And little Jed, he's so number four, wearing his big brother's spiderman costume, rolled up and tucked under. Our family theme, out the window, with little girls who wanna be butterflies, and little boys who wanna be super heros, and a grown Cowboy who loves being a cowboy. So we just go with it. :)

And after food and conversation, the sun goes down, and the chill comes in and we put coats on. The field is covered in cars full of games and treats. And at the end of the night we pull out the jumper cables and rejuvenate the cars that shown their headlights on all the fun....

One of my favorite things about Halloween as a kid was dumping all our candy out onto the floor. My brother and I would divide everything we had gotten into piles, then we'd trade each other for the things we liked best. I tried to teach the treasures the glory of this great candy swap on Halloween night, but I'm not sure they're quit old enough to grasp the fun of it yet. :)

Happy Halloween!
