My Charmer turned SIX last week.
We moved to The Springs when I was 30 weeks pregnant with this kiddo. So every time his birthday rolls around, it's not only a sweet time of celebrating my little man, it's also a testimony of God's faithfulness to me in helping me through another year in this place. Every year it feels a bit more like home, but I haven't yet gotten to that place where I don't long for the beach, and familiarity and sunny skies year round, and weekly visits with life-long friends. And truth be told, I may never be in that place, and that's okay
I guess it's been the year of new bikes. Si, Hal & Jed all got a new bike for their birthday. Every afternoon after the rain falls, all four of the older ones hop on their bikes and ride back and forth on our dirt road. It's a great way to spend a summer if you ask me. :)
This kid loves Bass Pro more than any kid I know. He could spend HOURS in that store. He has a whole list of things he'd like to have from there.
I love how his name fits his personality perfectly.
Jedediah Cyrus, our little adventurous cowboy.
I love that he has three sweet dimples on his round little cheeks every time he smiles.
I love how excited he is about doing school like the big kids this fall.
I love the way he loves to help me in the kitchen.
I asked him what he wanted to do for his birthday and he surprised me with his answer, "Go to the movies with just Mama."
Within our big family, there are kiddos that naturally demand more of my attention than others. There are big kids who need help with schoolwork and toddlers who are constantly causing a ruckus. I have to be intentional with my Jeddy because he's the naturally quiet one, and it doesn't take much for him to get lost in the shuffle.
He literally did not stop talking the entire way to the movies and the entire way home. It was as if he had been storing up his thoughts from the past year and they just spilled out of his mouth the second we were alone in the car. I loved every second of it.
And the week after his 6th birthday, my precious little boy lost his very first tooth. I must confess that I kinda really love the toothless grin...
I love you to the moon and back sweet boy! Happy 6th Birthday!!
