The Big Reveal

It's a........

GIRL!!!!

We had grand ideas of doing the big reveal outside, under our glorious scrub oak trees.

Then it rained.

It rained hard and long.

SO we came up with plan B and the Cowboy held a bag up over the kids and I in the sunroom and just sliced the bag open with his pocket knife.

The kids have been waiting for weeks to find out if we're having a boy or a girl. They all wanted a girl except for Siah. Then this morning on the way to our ultrasound appointment he changed his mind and joined the rest of the troops and decided he wanted a girl too.

We took all the kids with us to our ultrasound and had the tech write the gender on a piece of paper and put it in an envelope. After the appointment we took the kids out to lunch and ran some errands and made them wait all afternoon. They were beside themselves anxious to find out.

Our friends, the Gaws, come over. We gave them the envelope and they went into our basement and filled the bag with the color balloons and streamers of the gender.

My Dad came over and my friend Sarah took pictures. I'm soo incredibly thankful for these pictures.

My Hal was in my lap and I wanted so badly to see her face when the bag opened and all the pink fell out. She's been begging the Lord for a girl every single day since the day we told her #6 was on the way.

I've been trying to prepare their hearts just in case it was a boy and each time I'd remind her that a boy would be an equal blessing, she'd just look me in the eye and tell me, "Mama, it's gonna be a girl, the Lord's gonna give us a girl. " She knew exactly what the Lord had up His sleeve! Love this girl!

{This one cracks me up. It seems that Solomon might have been the only one who really wanted a boy. :)}

{All the kids cheered and screamed and laughed and it was one of the best moments ever!!}

I love my family.

I love my Joey and the way that he so kindly goes along with my silly ideas.

I love that he loves having kids just as much as I do.

I love that he found me in the kitchen after the reveal and rested his hands on my waist and looked into me and asked me a question with that grin on his face that I love. "Are you so excited?"  He asked me a question he already knew the answer to, just so he could hear me whisper a resounding, yes!

I love our kids and how they each have their own ways of showing joy. I love that our home is a place where we all get to make sweet memories together.

I LOVE that we're having a GIRL!!! And I love that everyone under the farmhouse roof is giddy about it tonight__ except for maybe Solomon. :)
