She's Lovely & She's Loved

I met her when I was just a kid myself.

The crazy thing is, Joey and I were youth group leaders and she was in our youth group; I was 19 and she was 16 and I was supposed to be pouring life and truth into her when in reality I was a kid trying to lead a kid.

I was in college and dating my Joey, and she was in her junior year in high school.

And now, I've been married for 15 years and have five kids and another on the way__

And her?

She's been married for 11 years and has four incredible children.

She emailed me a few months back, asking about  a possible visit to the farm.

The Cowboy and I absolutely LOVE opening up our home and couldn't wait for them to arrive.

As we wrote back and forth about some details of our week she ended one of her letters with, "we just want to live life with you for the week," and that's exactly what we did.

We made meals together and did dishes and sat on the front porch and chatted about life and our kids and all that has happened in the past six years since we saw each other last.

And after spending the week with this lovely woman, I felt blessed and encouraged. I felt so proud of who she has become. She has an amazingly solid and intimate relationship with the Lord. She's an incredible Mama and wife. She's got a servant's heart and a quiet spirit and she's truly one of the easiest people on the planet to hang out with.

She's lovely and she's loved and I'm so thankful that her and her family made the trek out to the farm this summer.

It was a total gift to me. :)
