Look Up In Wonder

For some reason, the sky here on the farm has always felt so big to me; much bigger than it ever felt in our little cottage near the beach.

Some days it feels extra big.

And I always think of psalm 19 when we go outside and all of us look up at the same time and stand there silent with a sense of wonder...

"The WHOLE EARTH is FULL of His glory."

It is.

It really, really is.

Most days in this place rarely go as planned. I strive for consistency. And I am learning to simply walk in what the Lord brings.

He is the one real consistency in this place.

A sweet friend sent this to my inbox this week...

As for God, his way is perfect.
The Lord's Word is flawless;
he shields all those who take refuge in him.
It is God who arms me with strength
and keeps my way secure.
He makes my feet like the feet of a deer;
he causes me to stand on the heights.
He trains my hands for battle,
my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
You make you saving help my shield,
and your right hand sustains me;
your help has made me great.
You provide a broad path for my feet
so that my ankles do not give way."
{Psalm 18:30-36}

Yep, this Lord is what makes the days that don't go according to plan, doable. Your way is perfect (not mine). It is You who gives me strength (not me who gives myself strength). It is you who lightens my load, you who trains my heart for all that is necessary in a day, you who sustains me all_the_day_long. It is you that makes this farmhouse and growing up here, great.

Keep my mind steadfast on you.

Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. (Psalm 63)

The best days are the ones when we keep on looking up in wonder...
