Family Reunion {A Weekend In Pictures}

Joey's grandparents on his Dad's side just celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.
And for the first time in a long time nearly the entire family was able to get together for the purpose of simply celebrating family.

{The kids found a turtle in the street and got to carry it back to the creek. They thought it was pretty awesome.}

{Four generations.}

{Love this guy.}

I don't know Mamaw and Papaw as well as I would like to know them. But I can say that their life and their love for one another is a testimony to me. They've been through a lot in 64 years.

I had the privilege of visiting them a few months back while Papaw was in the hospital and the thing that stuck with me the most is how they each spoke so highly of the other person and how they cared for the other person above themselves. I think that might be one of the privileges of living a lifetime with your spouse__ you get to a place where you find joy in laying yourself down and you stop spending so much time fighting for your own rights.

It's amazing to me how loudly your life can speak when you're not saying a single word, you're simply living  a life where others can't miss the fact that you know you are loved and adored by a glorious Savior and He is always enough for you. And because He is enough, you can joyfully lay your life down and love others freely because you're loved perfectly by the One who made you.

Now that's a life worth living.

Thanks to everyone who came, and especially thanks to Lacy and Jeremy for opening their home to all of us.

Last weekend was a gift to me. :)
