The One Thing I Want Them To Know {Just This}

Siah, Hal, Reese, & Jed...

If someone may ask you along the way, "Who are you?"
I hope that your response will always be, "I am the crown and glory of creation. I have exceptional value and I am loved."

If someone may ask you along the way, "Why are you here, what is your purpose?"
I hope that you won't hesitate when you say, "I am here to honor and glorify my Jesus in every last thing that I do."

Sweet treasures of mine, if you know these things, you can do anything.

Sweet treasures of mine, if you have the world view of your Savior, might you be able to change the world... for His glory?

"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.  And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.  And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.  For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell,  and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross." Colossians 1

Christ is before ALL things.

Christ needs to be the beginning and the end of all that we do.

All of our learning,

all of our living,

all our time,

all of our choices,

might they begin and end in Him, in His Word, for His glory.

Why is it so easy to forget, that there is nothing good under the sun, apart from the hope that comes from Jesus?

My Siah walked into the kitchen today and I just wanted him to know. That's the weird thing about the things that God reveals and reminds me of. I get so excited about them in my own heart but I have no idea how to pass them on without being awkward.

But this thing, this one truth that He so graciously implanted in my heart this week, this thing, I want my son to know so badly that no matter how awkward I just let it out there in the kitchen.

My Siah, he had come into the kitchen for one thing, a hug from his Mama. But when he buried himself in my arms, I kept him there...

"Siah love. Do you know who you are?"

He looked up at me all goofy.

I repeated my question.

"Do you know that you are the crown and glory of all creation?"

And his goofy grin turned into a beaming smile and I just kept going.

"Do you know that you are the crown and glory of all that God has ever made because of Jesus? Do you know that you exceptional value and that you are extravagantly loved?"

"Ya Mom, I know that."

"Really? Do you really really know? Do you know why you're here on this earth?"

He chuckles and he keeps on smiling with his arms wrapped around me and his eyes looking into mine.

"Do you know that you're here for one very important reason? You're here to bring honor and glory to your Jesus in all that you do"

"I knew that one too Mom."

"I'm so glad that you know. But even so, I'm going to keep asking you those questions throughout your whole life because I want you to know those two things then you will be in a place where the Lord can use you to influence this world for His glory, no matter what you do or where you go."

So I asked him again. "Who are you sweet boy?"

"I'm the crown and glory of creation Mom."

"And why are you here?"

"To bring glory to my Jesus!"

I love that! I love that he knows, and I love that I have a life time to whisper that truth over him and all the others.

I have watched these clips every day this week. They've put
me in a place where I always want to be... Never forgetting the supremacy of Christ, in truth... in ALL things.

(It's maybe 45 minutes total, but worth every minute. Grab a cup of tea, sit by the fire and get filled up with the joy of knowing that our Jesus is over all things. :)

Enjoy!!
