The Shindig

When we woke up Saturday morning, Siah crawled in between Papa and I in our (gloriously fabulous) bed, him all a glow.

"Our party is today!"

We smiled, half awake.

"You're getting so big buddy. I remember when Mama and I used to put you in between us in our bed each morning when you were just a baby... and now you're so long you take up half the bed!"

Siah grinned looking up at his Papa.

"All my friends are coming over today Papa. Last year we didn't know anybody."

And thinking of the biggest number that he could think of he went on...

"And now this year, FORTY people are coming!"

It's true. It's so true how God's faithfulness never fails... how in the shortness of a year He's brought bounty to our family in the form of godly, deep, true, real and raw friendships not only for this Mama and Papa, but for each of our treasures as well.

We were all looking forward to the party...

The weather is just plain unpredictable here. So our party at the park, at the last minute turned into a party at the farm. And in all honesty, Im so glad it did. We seriously had a blast celebrating two of our greatest gifts along with one of their closest friends, Campbell, who also has a birthday in April.

We laid out picnic blankets all over the farm house everyone brought their own picnic lunch.

Some fine folks filling up our sunroom...

Our Siah will be six in a few short weeks...

And what's a party without a picture of our squishy cuteness...

My heart just felt joy the entire day... truly, I love living on this animal-free farm. The wind was crazy but we went outside anyway. And Joey hooked up the trailer to the 4-wheeler and took the kids on a ride across the fields and around the barn...

There were bubbles everywhere... The kids played baseball and soccer in the yard..

Our almost three-year-old... vibrant, spunky, defiant as anything, and yet FULL of life and laughter!!! Love this girl!

Can't have a party without cupcakes and birthday songs...

Silly Papas...

Lots of laughter and twirling...

They jumped high and laughed loud! They played crack the egg on the trampoline and at the end, Drew threw his hands up and declared, "I'm hatched!" It was hilarious...

And what I LOVED the most... was all the friends and families that make themselves at home on our little farm. Each of them are the most precious of gifts and we constantly soak up the thought that our home is a place where others can come, day or night, and feel like they too are completely at home.

Yep... this lovely couple is expecting their first little treasure in the Fall. Congrats guys!!!!

The whole day was a blast! Climbing on tree stumps,
Swinging high into the sky...

And opening way to many gifts...
Birthdays around the Clark house are true celebrations of the unfathomable gifts that the Lord has lavished on us in giving us our children! When the kiddos were all done opening their gifts and everyone had gone home, I scooped them up into my lap, kissed each one gently on the cheek and whispered in their ears,

"Do you know what two of my most favorite gifts in the WHOLE world are?"

They both giggled and I smothered them both with kisses and tickles and declared,

"YOU ARE!"

And it's oh so true... they are truly gifts!

Happy birthday treasures!!!!! :)
