A First

Today was a monumental day is a boy's life. He was so excited to tell his Papa what had just happened. I was on the couch feeding the littlest boy... He was at the front door face pressed up against the glass, giving me the play by play as he saw his Papa's truck pull off the road and in through the gap in the farm fence.
"He's getting out at the mailbox...
He's back in the truck now...
He's passing in between the barn and the garage...
Wait!...
He stopped at the garage...
Why's he stopping at the garage Mama?...
Oh, he's coming out of the garage with the plow...
Man, now I have to wait!"

He paces the small entry way.
Back and forth, back and forth.
He just keeps repeating to himself, "I can't believe it Mom. I just can't believe it. I can't believe this is happening to me."

"What can't you believe buddy? That you have to wait?"

"No. I can't believe that I LOST MY VERY FIRST TOOTH!"

"Oh, but of course," I smile as he looks up at me with his now toothless grin. :)

When it first came out it was a bit of a bloody mess... He doesn't do so well with blood... He wanted a band aid... I tried to explain that band aids don't work so well on teeth. He wasn't to content with my explanation... but he settled with some toilet paper instead. :)

His new tooth is already coming in.

Here it is... the tiny little tooth that turned his little world around today.

When he Papa came walking in the door, he jumped high and exclaimed, "It fell out Papa! It finally fell out! I just can't believe it! I'm gonna have a grown up tooth now."

And then Papa's smile and "Wow buddy! That's awesome!" Made my Siah all aglow and full of childhood pride. :)

I'm so stoked for him! I love being his Mama for moments just like these. :)
